6 Month Stats

Dear Ryan,

At six months you are still the calmest baby I have ever encountered.  You epitomize "go with the flow."  You rarely cry and when you do there is generally a very good reason (usually involving a desire for food).  You LOVE Sammy and Kitty almost as much as you love food and Mike and your face lights up whenever either of them come near you.  I'm pretty sure you will start crawling just so you can get to them. I had planned to wait until you were 6 months old to start you on solids, but you demanded "real" food sooner.  So at 5.5 months I caved.  You constantly grabbing my plate and trying to get anything your little hands could reach was enough of a sign.  So far you have enjoyed everything we have offered you and you are a great eater.  You sleep fairly well, but your sleeping habits haven't changed much since you were 5.5 weeks old.  You are ready for bed each night around 8pm and will usually sleep 7-9 hours before you wake up hungry.  I'll usually get another hour or two out of you before you are up and ready for the day.  Unlike when your brother was a baby, you do not like to eat first thing in the morning when you wake up, which makes feeding you before you go to daycare challenging some days.  Usually you are much more interested in watching what Mike, Sammy or Kitty is doing than actually nursing.

You are quite the big boy weighing in at 19lb 7oz, which lands you right around the 95% for weight.  You are 26.5 inches tall (50%).  Your eyes seem to be settling on a grey/blue color and your hair is still very much red...though you don't have much of it.  We joke that you are sporting the mohawk/mullet look because those are the only two places you have really any hair.

We love you more than you will ever know,

Mama and Daddy
