Happy Halloween!

Most of our Halloween festivities were yesterday. We spent the morning at Boo at the Zoo with our little horse then in the evening our little skeleton accompanied us to a Halloween party.

Things to Remember

Last Friday night we went out to dinner at O'Charley's. I was pleasantly surprised with their "kids eat free" program so we ordered Mike some macaroni and cheese and broccoli. When the food arrived he happily started gobbling it all down (along with random pieces and parts from my and Brad's meals as well). As the meal was coming to an end and he was starting to get full he began to get more selective about what he was willing to eat. He would still happily shovel the mac and cheese into his mouth, but broccoli just wasn't making the cut anymore. He started studying his plate and picking up the pieces of broccoli and daintily dropping them over the side of his high chair before greedily gobbling up some more mac and cheese. I have to admit, it was hilarious. That's the one...the broccoli flinger.

Mike and Kitty

You may remember (click here and here if you don't) that Mike and Kitty have a special relationship. Mainly Mike likes to lay on top of, and squish Kitty and she puts up with it. Imagine my surprise the other morning when I stumbled across Mike and Kitty having a sweet moment of him nicely petting her. I kid you not it probably lasted a good 3 minutes, which any parent of a baby/toddler can tell you is a lifetime

Please ignore the super ugly blanket on the couch. This is "Sam's Couch," and she has torn up the cushions a little bit so we cover them up with an ugly blanket (no offense mom, I know you bought me this blanket in 1987 at Pamida). Yep, we literally have a couch for our dog.

First "real" haircut

On Saturday Mike got his first "real" haircut. He was fantastic and even let her use the clippers without freaking out!

Boring?

Either he finds football to be very boring, or we need to stop taking him to games during his nap time (Last Sunday at the Rams/Chargers game).

It came with the beer.

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner on Monday ($0.60 boneless wings!!!) and Brad ordered a beer. When the waitress brought it to the table, she awkwardly handed me a hat and said "it comes with the beer...the hat, it comes with the beer." Of course an impromptu photo shoot was completely necessary.

Eckert's Farm

On Saturday we headed over to Illinois for a little fall fun at Eckert's farm. After a morning of pumpkins, apple picking, petting zoos, pig races, a 70 foot slide, a corn maze, kettle corn and fresh apple cider we felt immensely festive. Seriously what more can you ask for?
Mike showing off his tractor driving skills. Good thing grandpa Mike has given him some lessons.

Learning about the water buffalo.

Taking a little walk to the next pen.

Up close and personal with one of the camels.

Picking a few apples.

Whew we made it out!

And, of course, the pumpkins!

A video of Mike walking. It is super short, but you get the idea.

Sunday Gameday

We were spoiled yet again with free tickets to a Saint Louis sporting event. This score = Ram's tickets! So on Sunday we donned our Ram's gear and headed out to the Edward Jones Dome for a little Sunday afternoon excitement.

Mike and Brad pre-game showing off where their allegiances lie.

Mike showing off 2 (of his 5) pearly whites.

Pretty much the view from our seats. Definitely cannot complain (yes, Mike is wearing hearing protection...it gets REALLY loud in the dome)

Close up of Mike paying close attention to the action on the field.

All tuckered out. He fell asleep in the middle of the third quarter and slept for the rest of the game, which leads me to believe the ear muffs really work!
