Happy Birthday Mike!

I was 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I got up that morning feeling perfectly normal. Well as perfectly normal as someone who is 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant can feel. I parked in my normal spot and walked roughly a half mile to the office. I went about my normal work duties (it was month end close so we were fairly busy). Then everything changed around 4:15pm when my water broke...at work...while talking to a coworker.
I quickly told my boss I had to leave. She gave me a funny look and I quickly explained that my water had broken. I think my entire group was kind of stunned and no one really processed the information until I was headed toward the elevator, cell phone in hand calling Brad, ready for the half a mile walk to my car. Brad answered his phone with "is it time?" I told him it was and we argued for a few minutes about if a) he should come pick me up (I said no because I didn't want my car to be left at work); b) he should meet me at the hospital (I said no because I wanted to go to the hospital together); or c) if I should drive home, meet him there and then we would go to the hospital together (my suggestion and the winning one...surprise, surprise). As I was walking to my car one of my coworkers came running down the street behind me making sure I was ok. I assured her I was and we walked to our cars together. After promising to text her as soon as I got home she let me get in my car to drive home.
Upon arriving home, Brad finished packing my hospital bag while I took a quick shower and changed clothes. By 5pm we were on our way to the hospital...in rush hour traffic. By 6pm the contractions had started, by 7pm we were in our room and at 10pm I received an epidural. After months of waiting I could hardly believe that our little Michael would soon be joining us. But he wasn't quite ready to make his appearance on December 8.
