Boys are Weird

The Weekend

 This past weekend was pretty great.  We didn't really have any plans and we spent a large chunk of time doing yard work, but it was still great.  The weather was warm-ish, the sun was bright and we were all together.  Mike was actually amazingly helpful with the yardwork and Ryan was happy to be outside (notice how I didn't bring up how "helpful" Ryan was). 

Aside from the tilling, digging, trimming, mowing, planting and mulching we found time to explore a new conservation area that is nearby. We set out both boys in backpacks and high hopes for a decent hike. Our plans were quickly disrupted when we found out that a large section of the trail was unpassable due to flooding.



Next weekend we have about 40 things planned.  While I'm sure it will also be a great weekend, sometimes the best ones are when nothing is planned.

Mike gave me a surprise "lets do lunch" bag when I dropped him off at daycare today with an apple, granola bar and picture of him eating lunch. I took this picture and sent it to one of his teachers.

Surprise!

I have always wanted a surprise party and on Saturday night Brad pulled it off. Looking back there were a few red flags I could have picked up on, but I was honestly shocked when I walked I to our to find a house full of friends. No one was more excited than Mike who yelled "SURPRISE!!! happy Birthday mommy" over and over again.

Thanks Brad - I'm impressed ;)

Mike's Garden

Mike's container garden. He picked tomatoes, peppers and carrots. The highly requested cantaloupe will go in the normal garden.

Gardening

While planting Mike's garden today this little turkey just wanted to eat dirt, throw dirt and dig up what we had just planted. He is such a little stinker. It is a good thing he is so cute.

Missing you

These two missed each other this morning. Mike didn't wake up until after Ryan went down for his morning nap. Now everyone is awake and happy!
