Oh! hi there!

I've had a number of people let me know that I have really been sucking at blogging lately. It is true, I have. But I just haven't really been motivated to. We have done so many things since we moved to Maryland, but I just haven't filled you in (i do post pictures to Instagram pretty much daily. Find me - erinhkw).   Anyway, let's see if I can get back in the habit. 

Yesterday we did another mud run. It was the Rugged Maniac this time. It was tons of fun per usual but it was freezing cold!  It was in the 40s, overcast and windy. We were fine while we were running but once we finished the last obstacle (a giant slide into a pool of water) and crossed the finish line things went down hill. After changing clothes and sitting in the warm car for 15 minutes I was still so cold I couldn't hold my beer without spilling it because my hands were shakingso much. I ended up getting a migraine as we were getting ready to leave. But, I would totally do it all over again 😄

Catching Up: Part 3

After we had the U-Haul unloaded in Baltimore and the house somewhat unpacked there wasn't a ton for us to do until the POD was scheduled to arrive a week later so we decided to do a bunch of touristy things.  We spent a day at the Inner Harbor visiting Fort McHenry, riding the water taxi and looking at the awesome ships.

 

 

 

 We took the train to Washington DC and spent a day walking around the memorials and visiting the Natural History Museum.

 

 we ate crabs (sort of) like a local (only after a friendly restaurant employee put us out of our misery and showed us how).

 

We also spent a day at the National Aquarium.

 

And celebrated our ninth anniversary!

 



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Catching Up: Part 2

After we returned from Wisconsin we spent the next few days packing our entire house into 1 pod, 1 U-Haul trailer, 2 pick up trucks and my car.  I don't think my fitbit knew what was going on with all of those steps.  We were easily hitting 25K steps per day.

 

 After everything was loaded we said one final goodbye to our house and St. Louis and started the 13 hour drive to Baltimore. 

We decided to break it into two days to make it a bit easier on everyone.  My dad drove his truck and pulled the trailer, Brad took Sammy in his truck and the rest of us (including one very vocal kitty)
rode in my car. 

 

We arrived at our new house at about 3pm on Friday 7/18 and were pleasantly surprised with the place as we had yet to see it in person (we kept telling ourselves it was only for a year and a friend had come to look at it for us). 

We are in a nice neighborhood of mostly identical row houses.  Ours has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a small office upstairs, a living room, dining room and kitchen on the main floor and a finished basement with a 1/2 bath and a storage/laundry room in the basement.  We have a small front yard, a covered deck, a patio and a small, fenced yard in the back.  We live about a block from an elementary school with 3 playgrounds which is great for the boys.  Our next door neighbors have little boys who are 4 and 6 so the boys are in heaven.
