Playground

There is an elementary school near our house that has a decent playground that is usually deserted.  We found ourselves there last Sunday evening to burn a little bit of toddler energy.  Worked like a charm!

The Zoo

Monday I took the day off work and spent the day with my boys.  Even though it was hot, Hot, HOT we decided to christen our new zoo membership and take a trip to visit the lions, tigers and bear (oh my!).  As always Mike loved the trip.  He insisted on seeing the elephants, penguins and lions and riding the train and carousel.  We accomplished all but one of those things before the heat got to be too much and little boys (and mommies) started to wilt.

Normal Days

Tidbits:

Last night we had to go on two walks.  On the first walk, Mike just wanted to walk.  When we got home he wanted to go on a bike ride.  I guess from his perspective we went on a walk on a bike ride.

Like most 2 year olds, Mike LOVES the water.  Saturday morning I decided to take him to a nearby splash park before lunch and his nap.  We learned when we got there that the splash park doesn't open until noon (it was 11:30). Luckily there was a playground!

I have this baby

So I have this baby, and he is the sweetest, calmest, most adorable baby in the world.  He turned 4 months old at the very end of May which triggered us taking him to his 4 month check-up.  Turns out my adorable, sweet baby is also quite the chunk.  Mike was also a chunky baby (I LOVE chubby babies) but we learned that comparing them at 4 months Ryan has over 1.5 pounds (?!?!) on Mike.  Ryan tipped the scales at 17 pounds even and he measured in at 25 inches long.  Apparently my milk is 100% cream.

Recently this baby that I have discovered his feet (always a good day...Mike found his feet during a trip to the zoo) and realized he could use his feet to help pass toys to his hands (smart boy).

This baby of mine also LOVES books.  He intently looks at the pictures and is 100% captivated anytime we read to him.  It would appear that his books are tasty as well.

This baby of mine is also starting to think about sitting up.  Unfortunately while he is pondering sitting he usually falls over.
