Sunday Gameday

We were spoiled yet again with free tickets to a Saint Louis sporting event. This score = Ram's tickets! So on Sunday we donned our Ram's gear and headed out to the Edward Jones Dome for a little Sunday afternoon excitement.

Mike and Brad pre-game showing off where their allegiances lie.

Mike showing off 2 (of his 5) pearly whites.

Pretty much the view from our seats. Definitely cannot complain (yes, Mike is wearing hearing protection...it gets REALLY loud in the dome)

Close up of Mike paying close attention to the action on the field.

All tuckered out. He fell asleep in the middle of the third quarter and slept for the rest of the game, which leads me to believe the ear muffs really work!

Outtakes

Yet another round of outtakes:

Baby steps

The title literally says it all. Today at 9 months and 25 days Mike took his first steps (3 in a row). Sadly, I was not around for the event. It happened literally seconds before I walked into the door at daycare. This evening he took three more which I was able to witness. Because I was so excited and encouraging I didn't grab the camera so there is no photo evidence, just an image burned in my brain of an amazingly happy little boy taking his first steps!

Outside

I mentioned earlier that the weather in Saint Louis has been fantastic for the past week or so. On Saturday the highs were in the low 60s. We celebrated the relief from heat and humidity by spending as much time as possible outside.

Standing on my own two legs

Guess who can stand...unassisted...for long periods of time...and do squats?

And yes, he does love that drum stick...wonder who he got that from?

Things to remember

Mike gets into everything. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G everything. He crawls fast and is into something before you even realize he is gone. The kid is good, I have to admit. Due to his excellent mobility skills and his love of putting everything in his mouth I find myself saying "Michael, NO" quite often. Apparently when I tell him this I also shake my head "no" because wouldn't you know it, the little booger now shakes his head "no" too. He doesn't quite have the context down (i.e. "Mike do you want a banana" shakes head no then gobbles down the banana), but he is learning. And oh my goodness when he does it, it is absolutely adorable. He gets a tiny little pouty face going, looks down and then shakes his head slowly back and forth. I know, I know, one day (in the not too distant future) my kid saying "no, no, no" all day is going to drive me nuts, but for right now, it is simply adorable.
